Dr. Jacob Kasprenski, O.D.
Dr. Kasprenski received his undergraduate degree from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania where he majored in biology. He then attended the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Kasprenski received advanced training while completing rotations across Texas and Louisiana. This training included pre- and post-operative care for cataract and refractive surgery; specialty scleral contact lens fittings to treat diseases such as keratoconus; management of retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration; and management of various anterior segment diseases with a focus on Dry Eye Disease. While in Louisiana, Dr. Kasprenski also gained advanced training in glaucoma management and treatment. His practical education encompassed using various laser procedures to treat Primary Open Angle Glaucoma and Narrow Angle Glaucoma. These procedures include Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty and Laser Peripheral Iridotomy. |
In addition to gaining experience utilizing laser procedures for the treatment of glaucoma, Dr. Kasprenski was also trained to perform YAG Capsulotomies to remove Posterior Capsule Opacifications. A YAG Capsulotomy is a laser procedure performed after cataract surgery that removes a film which can occur on the new lens implant. He also gained notable experience in the removal of chalazions by way of injection and surgical excision.
Dr. Kasprenski trained on the latest technology in the treatment of Dry Eye Disease and Meibomian Gland Dysfunction. This training incorporated both the use of Lipiview and Lipiflow as well as M-22 Lumenus which uses intense pulsed light to combat meibomian gland dysfunction.
Dr. Kasprenski’s special interests include Dry Eye Disease, Meibomian Gland Disease, Corneal and Anterior Segment Pathology, and Medical Retinal pathology. While practicing in Williamsburg, Virginia for two years, Dr. Kasprenski was on staff at a high volume private practice, with a focus on medical optometry. He cared for patients of all ages with various ocular pathologies and prescribed glasses and contact lenses.
Dr. Kasprenski grew up in the Lehigh Valley in Orefield. His father and grandfather were both well-loved physicians who served this community with dedication for many years. When he returned to the Lehigh Valley, Dr. Kasprenski established Kasprenski Family Eye Care with the intent to offer the same dedication and utmost integrity while providing his community with the highest quality eye care.
In his free time, Dr. Kasprenski enjoys spending time with friends and family. On most days, you will see him outside—hiking, fishing, kayaking, golfing, smoker/grilling or anything else that gets him outdoors.
